He was known for being notoriously mean and only let people check out books for an hour because he believed books belonged in a library. In 1938, Rose went to the library to get the latest Nancy Drew mystery and as she was checking out, Ernest got his tie stuck in the checkout machine. Rose got her Girl Scout Knife out and cut his tie off, saving his life. Ernest was so grateful that he let Rose check out her book for an entire week.	GG S02/E04

One day Rose got up the courage to go up to Mean Old Lady Higgenlooper and ask her why she always frowned. It turns out that she had been born with no smiling muscles. Rose pointed out that a frown is just a smile turned upside down. From then on, whenever Rose would go by, she’d stand on her head and wave.	GG S03/E15

While he was in the bathroom, Rose turned out the lights. When the dumbwaiter arrived, the waiter got off, saw Rose, and he crawled into bed with her. Thinking he was Charlie, Rose said, ‘Grandma, what big eyes you have.’ He replied, ‘The better to see you with, my dear.’ Then she said, ‘Grandma, what big teeth you have.’ He replied, ‘The better to nibble you with, my dear.’ Then Charlie came out of the bathroom and asked, ‘Who’s that sleeping in my bed?’. Rose Nylund	– Eddie Parker, the Aqua Midget	Also known as the Aqua Midget, Eddie was a performer at the local USO Club. His act was climbing up a stepladder and diving into a gigantic punch bowl. Eddie met Rose when she went to work at the club after her husband went off to World War II, and he developed a crush on her. While Rose did care for Eddie, she turned him down by telling him that she couldn’t be seriously involved with someone in show business.	GG S01/E11
