Not knowing that she was pregnant, he chose God. It was only after Rose was with the Lindstroms that he found out what happened to Ingrid. By then, he didn’t want to interfere with her new life. Ingrid Kerclavaner | Rose’s biological mother. A 19-year-old that worked in the monastery kitchen. A very chatty woman that ended up in a relationship with Brother Martin. When the abbot found out about the relationship, Brother Martin was given a choice between Ingrid and God, and he chose God.
